CHARMINSTER

Wed 11 Jun 2014

Our office is on Charminster Road, known locally for its wide range of smaller, specialist shops together with a really cosmopolitan choice of cafes and restaurants. Traditionally many local families offer hospitality to students at the English language colleges nearby, adding to the lively mix of cultures.

For a mix of larger supermarkets and retail outlets, there is the Castlepoint Shopping Centre on Castle Lane West, a short drive away (and with large free car park) or there are regular bus services there and into Bournemouth town centre, Poole, etc. so you don’t always have to use the car. There are several doctors surgeries and dental surgeries nearby, and our local library on Strouden Avenue hosts many clubs and one-off events.

Several local churches are landmark buildings, including S. Francis of Assisi and St Albans (Church of England), the Catholic Church of the Annunciation – all on Charminster Road - and United Reform Church on Sutton Road.

Local leisure facilities include Winton Recreation Ground, located very close to Charminster Road. With a super play area, cricket pitch, cycle track and tennis courts, it is deservedly very popular with local families. Richmond Park Bowls Club is based there too, and there are tennis lessons available with a local professional.

There are schools for all ages in the local area, including both state and private infants and junior schools, and for older pupils places at the two Bournemouth Grammar Schools are very sought after. Please ask if you need any more information or advice.
