Historic Throop Mill

Thu 01 Feb 2018

One of the most distinctive historic properties in our area is #ThoopMill, sadly not used since 1974.

Its a traditional #watermill which is Grade Two Listed.

There has been much talk over the years about turning the building into an arts and crafts centre, a cafe, a rambling centre or some form of accommodation but nothing has come of that so far, which does seem a real shame.

However, it remains a focal point for the #Throop area, with a small car park adjacent and access to walks by the #river, the #Stour, which is popular with local anglers.

If you would like to live nearby, we are currently offering a super six bedroom house for sale. Situated on The Green development, centred around the village green and pond, this is a great location if you are looking for a more rural environment, but still close enough to local facilities. The local #schools are excellent, don't take our word for it, just look at the OFSTED reports, and there is plenty of open space nearby for the children to play.
